Travel to Chile

Debes llegar a Santiago, al aeropuerto Arturo Merino Benitez (SCL).

You’ll need to fly into Santiago, to Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport (SCL). 

Hay varias formas de llegar a la ciudad. Puedes tomar un taxi oficial del aeropuerto (los encuentras después de pasar el control del SAG; entregas la dirección y te dan el precio de antemano), un transfer oficial (recomendamos Transvip) o pedir un Uber. Evita taxis no oficiales (suelen estar después de las puertas de vidrio). La tarifa promedio no debería ser más de $50 dólares.

There are several ways to get to the city. You can take an official airport taxi (you’ll find them after passing the SAG inspection; give them your destination and they’ll tell you the price in advance), an official transfer (we recommend Transvip) or request an Uber. Avoid unofficial taxis (they’re usually located past the glass doors). The average fare should not be more than US $50. 

El transporte público incluye el Metro (rápido, seguro y económico) y buses, pero para visitantes suelen ser más prácticas las apps de transporte (Uber). Si estás planeando viajes fuera de Santiago por el día, puedes arrendar un auto (Avis, Budget, Econorent, entre otros), pero el estacionamiento en la ciudad debe organizarse con anticipación.

Public transport includes the Metro (fast, safe, and affordable) and buses, but ride apps are easier for visitors (Uber). If you plan to do day trips outside of Santiago, you can rent a car (Avis, Budget, Econorent, among others), but parking in the city should be arranged in advance.

Marzo marca el fin del verano y el inicio del otoño en Santiago. Los días suelen ser cálidos (25–30°C) y las noches más frescas (12–15°C). Lleva ropa ligera para el día, pero también una chaqueta o suéter para la tarde/noche.

March is the end of summer and start of autumn in Santiago. Expect warm days (25–30°C / 77–86°F) and cooler evenings (12–15°C / 54–59°F). Bring light clothing for the day, but also a jacket or sweater for the evenings.
